K-POP DANCE COVER COMPETITION

We are looking forward to an incredible show with the K-POP Dance Cover Competition!

We hope that as many people as possible want to participate! The competition will take place during the Nordic Hallyu event at 18:30 in the AMFI hall at Kultursenteret ISAK in front of an LIVE audience and judges.

Address:

Prinsens gt. 44

7011 Trondheim

Norway

This year, we're trying out a new concept, with two different categories for the competition- Rookie and Master! This is to make the competition more accesible for first-timers and people who don't have a lot of experience on stage. Make sure that you specify which category you're applying for! (Note: The organizers will have a final say in which category you will be put in- to prevent level-gaps in the same category)

As a rule of thumb, we reccomend that bigger groups / those with experience with either dance or being on stage apply for the "Master" category, while those who perform for the first time / those with little to none dance or stage experience (but wants to get more) / younger participants apply to the "Rookie" category. If you're not sure about which category you should apply to, we're more than happy to assist you!

Master Category:

First Place: 8000Kr

Second Place: 3000Kr

FAQ

Can I participate solo?

Registration is open to everyone if you follow the rules. We will prioritize bigger acts over solo / duo acts if the maximum number of acts is reached.

We / I signed up for the competition but can't attend anymore. What should I do?

Please contact us immediately if you are not able to attend the competition. If you do so after the registration deadline, a penalty will be given for next year where your act will not be prioitized and automatically be put on the waiting list. This is to prevent unserious sign-ups that take up spots. No penalty will be given before the deadline date.

Can we change the song(s) we are performing to?

Yes. You don't have to tell us what you are performing when signing up for the competition. You can change the song as many times as you like, as long as you send us the correct audio file when inquired.

Will there be rehearsals?

Yes, there will be stage rehearsals on June 19th, 20th, and 21st. If you have the opportunity, we recommend setting aside time for stage rehearsals on June 19th and 20th, as you will also have more time to practice on stage, as well as request lighting cues.

Can we use choreography from a remix or a specific performance?

Yes, you can use choreography from shows like "Road to Kingdom" and specific performances like "MAMA" or Coachella, as long as it has been performed by a kpop artist. If you are in doubt, please send us a DM or message us.

Can we make our own choreography?

Yes, you are allowed to use your own choreography, but to make the judging as fair as possible, your own choreography will not be included in the judging. To have the best possible basis for the judging, we would recommend that you stick to the original choreography, but it is allowed.
